两段实习经历的差别

At my first internship company, since they were relatively new and had a small team, there weren't many online documents for me to learn from or refer to. When I encountered problems, I mostly relied on searching online or asking colleagues for help in person. In contrast, now at Alibaba Cloud, they have a lot of online documents available on the website named Yuque. When I encounter issues, they are often problems others have faced before, allowing me to quickly solve them by refering to these online resources. However, the increase in the number of colleagues also means a lot of information exchange. During my first internship, if there was a design change, it only required a discussion among a few people. But now at Alibaba Cloud, when a design change occurs, it often requires coordination among various roles such as software, verification, and others. Frequently, these individuals are not located in the same office, thus numerous online meetings are needed.

南京这座城市的认识

Nanjing is a very beautiful city which has a long history. It has many attractions, such as Xuanwu Lake and Qixia Mountain. Different people may have different experiences in Nanjing. For me, I live in the xianlin campus of Nanjing University which is far away from the city center. There are not many commercial centers near where I live, but the campus is very large with plenty of flowers and plants, which makes the area feel uncrowded. When I am free, I often walk around the campus and enjoy the nature. Sometimes I also sit around a small lake and read books which are borrowed from university library. When at Autumn, I often climb Qixia Mountain and enjoy the maple leaves. The mountain is near my campus. At the same time, It's worth mentioning that ticket prices for Qixia Mountain become quite high every autumn. So for me, living in Nanjing offers a very comfortable and free lifestyle.

Good morning，interviewer.

My name is Xie Zhiheng, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Microelectronics and Solid-State Electronics at Nanjing University, with an expected graduation date in June 2026. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated Systems at the same university, ranking top 5% in my school.

I am passionate about chip verification and design, and I have gained practical experience through internships at leading companies. In the summer of 2025, I worked as a Digital Verification Intern at Alibaba Cloud, where I was involved in UVM-based verification for the parser module of a smart NIC project. My responsibilities included building the UVM environment, developing test plans, writing test cases, and achieving coverage closure.

Before that, I interned at Basaltec, where I focused on UVM verification and VIP development for the ACMP module under the MIPI A-PHY protocol. I successfully developed both master and slave modes for the VIP, achieved 100% functional and code coverage, and supported pre-tape-out verification.

In terms of projects, I contributed to the development of a neural network acceleration chip based on an optoelectronic computing-in-memory architecture. I was responsible for RTL design, simulation, quantization algorithm implementation, and UVM verification for key modules. The chip has since been taped out.

Academically, I have published a paper as the second author in IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I and invented a patent related to redundant circuit design for computing-in-memory chips. I also won a national second prize in the China Graduate Mathematical Modeling Contest.

My technical skills include proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, UVM, EDA tools like VCS and Verdi, and scripting languages such as Python and Shell. I am also familiar with AMBA protocols and ASIC/FPGA development flows.

I am a highly motivated and detail-oriented learner, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to innovative projects in the field of chip design and verification.

My hometown is a small town in Suqian, Jiangsu Province, about two hours away from Nanjing by car. It's the kind of place where everyone knows each other. My family's house is even older than I am, so all our neighbors have known me since I was little. Whenever I go out, I often stop to greet them.
The people there are simple, sincere, and kind. I still remember when I was a child, if a neighbor’s kid was celebrating their birthday, they would often bring a piece of birthday cake over to our house. Now that I’m studying away from home, I rarely go back. It seems that most of the people still living in my hometown are elderly — many young people have left for bigger cities to study or work. Every time I return, I still see many older residents sitting at the entrance of the neighborhood, basking in the sun and living life at a slower, more relaxed pace.
