[Elm] Installing and setting up Elm

Before writing any Elm we need to first install the runtime locally. In this lesson we install the Elm runtime locally and set up a simple application to verify everything is working properly.

 

Install:

npm install -g elm

elm package install

elm package install elm-lang/html

 

Code:

//main.elm

import Html exposing (text)

main = 
 text "Hello World!"

 

Run:

elm reactor

 

Go to localhost:8000 to see the website.
