When someone hurts us, it’s easy to think about revenge. But revenge doesn’t really solve anything. Instead, it can make things worse. There is a better way to deal with it.
First, focus on yourself. If someone is mean to you or does something wrong, don’t waste your energy on them. Use that energy to become better. For example, if a friend doesn’t invite you to a party, you might feel sad. But instead of getting angry, you can spend that time doing something fun or learning something new. This way, you’re not letting the other person control your happiness. You’re in charge of your own life.
Second, try to understand why they did it. Sometimes, people act badly because they’re having a hard time themselves. Maybe they’re sad or angry about something else. When you think about it this way, it’s easier to forgive them. Forgiving doesn’t mean you forget what they did. It just means you’re not going to let it bother you anymore.
Third, talk to them if you can. Sometimes, people don’t even realize they hurt you. If you tell them how you feel, they might apologize. Even if they don’t, at least you’ve said what’s on your mind. You don’t have to be angry or mean. Just be honest.
In the end, the best revenge is to be happy and successful. When you’re kind to yourself and others, you feel good. And that’s the best way to show someone that they can’t bring you down.
