It was pouring the day Amy found out Emily betrayed her. They'd been best friends since kindergarten, but she spread lies about her liking cheating others. Everyone laughed at her , and she felt her face burning.
Amy angrily found her laughing secretly in the crowd, pulled her into an empty corner, and confronted her about why she did this. At first, Emily pretended to be clueless, saying, 'It wasn't me! How could I do such a thing to you?' But when Amy presented irrefutable evidence, she broke free from Amy's grasp and ran away.
The next day, there was a math test in class. The serious math teacher sat at the podium, scanning the students taking the exam. At that moment, Amy noticed Emily was cheating. She hesitated whether to tell the teacher, when a little voice in her heart said cheating in exams was wrong, and besides, Emily had treated her that way yesterday. So after the test, she wrote a note to inform the math teacher. Soon after, the math teacher called Emily out for a talk. When Emily returned, her face was still wet with tears. The math teacher entered the classroom and announced that Emily's test score would be nullified, hoping all students would take this as a warning.
After school, Emily found Amy and asked if she was the one who told the teacher. Amy admitted it. Unexpectedly, in the next moment, Emily apologized to her and explained that what happened yesterday was just because she was jealous that Amy had more friends. She admitted that what she did today about the exam was wrong, and finally hoped to gain Amy's forgiveness, wanting to continue being best friends in the future. Amy agreed, but she knew their relationship could never go back to how it was before. Although they made up, the hurt had truly happened. Revenge is not the cure for pain; it only causes pain to another person. Sometimes, forgiveness is the bravest revenge of all.
