Buying a new pet!

Lesson aim

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to describe pets, their appearances and characteristics; and make comparisons.

 

Do you like animals? Do you have a pet?

Ada - Yes, I like animals. I had a cat many years ago. I have some fish now.

Jonny - Yeah, I like animals so much. I used to have a pet, a dog. I called it Cola, she gave birth to so many babies, but finally she died.

Zekkle - Yes, I like cats very much. I have an Ocelot, he has lots of spots, he is called September. I think Ocelot's are awesome!

 

Vocabulary - Match the description to the correct pet.

1) Affectionate - Dog

2) Cute - Rabbit

3) Independent - Cat

4) Colourful - Tropical Fish

 

Put the vocabulary into the right groups.

Appearance (describes how something looks) - Colourful (bright with lots of colours), Cute (means lovely and attractive)

 

Character (describes how something acts) - Independent (is something that does not require others), Affectionate (friendly and loving),

 

Choose a pet from the shop

Example - Rabbits are cute! Let's buy one! or I want a dog. They are affectionate and you can take them for a walk!

Ada - I want a pet, they are friendly and cute and we can take them out for a walk.

Jonny - I want a dog. They are affectionate and sometimes they can make you smile when you have faced some difficulties and maybe they can light you up. I don't want a rabbit because they can't understand you.

Zekkle - I want to a rabbit. The rabbit is active and energetic and he has soft fur.

 

Tell us your opinions about pets.
