　　I am writing the email to introduce one of the most prestigious Chinese celebrities to you, Confucious.

　　Being a great thinker, educator and founder of Confucianism, Confucius is an ancient sage during the Spring and Autumn Period. His words and life story were recorded by his disciples and their students in The Analects. As an enduring classic of ancient Chinese culture, The Analects has influenced all thinkers, writers and politicians in the over-2000-year-long history of China after Confucius. No scholar could truly understand this long-standing culture or the inner world of ancient Chinese without this book.

　　Much of Confucian thought on Heaven and people represents universal human values. This is perhaps why Confucian thought in the 21^st century still remains the interest of not only the Chinese people but also in the other parts of the world.

　　孔子是一位大思想家、大教育家，儒家学派创始人，春秋时期的一位古代圣人。他的言论和生平活动记录在由他弟子或再传弟子编成的《论语》一书中。《论语》一书是中国古代文化的经典著作。在孔子以后两千多年的中国历史上，没有哪一位思想家、文学家、政治家不受《论语》这本书的影响。不研究《论语》，就不能真正把握中国几千年的传统文化，也不能深刻理解古代中国人的内在心境。　　

　　在孔子关于“天”、“人”的学说中，有很多思想体现了人类的普遍价值。这就是在21世纪的今天，孔子的学说不仅受到中国人的重视，而且受到整个国际社会重视的原因。
