A few weeks ago, Daniel, 30, was riding his two-wheeled scooter (滑板车) near a high school when someone asked him whether or not he could ride it.

Daniel agreed. However, to his surprise, the person took advantage of his kindness and didn't return the scooter.

Michael called the police.

Detective Sergeant Saddler took on the investigation and quickly discovered that Michael was a kind and honest person.

Touched by his story, Saddler and his partner made the heartfelt decision to buy the exact same scooter for Michael with their own money.

When Chief Berlin learned about their plan, he decided that the department (部门) would step in and cover the cost of the new scooter.

On Wednesday, the Roseville Police Department had the pleasure of seeing Michael himself and gave him the surprise.

Michael was very grateful when hearing the news.

After riding on his new scooter for a while, Michael expressed how the unexpected kindness had turned his hard year around.

Michael shared that the day of the surprise happened to be his birthday.

“After taking a few spins (旋转) on his new scooter, Michael said how he was kind of having a rough year and that yesterday was his birthday,” the department shared.
