The first place I can remember well was a pleasant field with a pond of clear water in it Trees made shadows over the pond, and water plants grew far beyond.
我最初记得清清楚楚的地方，是一片惬意的田野，中间有一池清澈的池塘。树木在池塘上方投下荫影，水生植物一直蔓生到很远的地方。

On one side was another field, and on the other side we looked over a gate at our master's house, which stood by the roadside. At the top of our field were more tall trees and at the bottom was a fast-running stream.
田野的一边是另一片田野，另一边我们隔着栅门能望见路边主人的房子。田野尽头是高耸的树木，下方则是一条湍急的溪流。

While I was young, I lived on my mother's milk, but as soon as I was old enough to eat grass, my mother went out to work during the day and came back in the evening. There were six other young horses in the field, although they were older than I was.
年幼时我依靠母亲的乳汁生活，但等到能啃食青草的年纪，母亲便白天外出劳作，傍晚才归来。田野里还住着另外六匹小马，虽然他们都比我年长。

We all galloped together round the field and had agreed.But sometimes the others would kick and bite.
我们常在田野里一同驰骋嬉戏，相处融洽。但偶尔他们也会互相踢咬争斗。
