Mr. Thompson was my history teacher in high school. I first met him in the tenth grade , during my first history class.

He had a deep voice and a serious demeanour that made me a little nervous at first. But despite his stern appearance , he left a lasting impact on me.

Mr, Thompson often asked us challenging questions. He wanted to know our thoughts on historical events and their relevance today.

At first, I was hesitant to speak up, fearing that my answers might be wrong. But over time, I began to share my opinions. His belief in my potential encouraged me and I gradually gained confidence in my own ideas.

I started to take risks in my thinking. exploring ideas I would have previously dismissed.

By the end of the year , I had changed completely, I was no longer afraid to voice my thoughts in class and I even took part in a debate competition where I presented historical arguments with conviction (坚定的念). That experience solidified my passion for history and I knew I wanted to pursue it further.
到那年年底,我完全改变了。我不再害怕在课堂上表达自己的想法,甚至还参加了一场辩论比赛,在比赛中我坚定地提出了历史论点。那次经历巩固了我对历史的热爱,我知道我想进一步追求它。

Being in Mr, Thompson's class changed me, I not only learned about history,but also myself.

He taught me the importance of critical thinking and the courage to express my ideas.
