There are many wetlands in China and some of them have become the world's important wetlands.

中国有许多湿地，其中一些已成为世界上重要的湿地。

 

The Chinese Yellow Sea Wetlands are among them. They are in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, They are homes for many different kinds of animals. The world's largest Milu Deer Nature Reserve(麋鹿自然保护区)is there. More than 700 Milu deer live freely there.

中国黄海湿地就是其中之一。它们位于江苏省盐城市，是众多不同种类动物的家园。世界上最大的麋鹿自然保护区就坐落于此。超过700头麋鹿在此自由栖息。

 

There are not many red-crowned cranes in the world, but every winter you can see some in the Red-crowned Crane Nature Reserve(丹顶鹤自然保护区)inthe Yellow Sea Wetlands.

全球丹顶鹤数量稀少，但每年冬季你都能在黄海湿地的丹顶鹤自然保护区见到它们的身影。

The temperature in the wetlands is usually not too high or too low. There are a lot of rain and sunshine, too.

湿地气温通常较为温和，雨量充沛，阳光充足。

 

They are really good places for wildlife, Providing food and home for some special kinds of animals is not the only reason why we need to protect wetlands.

这些湿地确实是野生动物的理想栖息地。但为珍稀物种提供食物和家园并非我们保护湿地的唯一原因。

 

Wetlands are important because they also prevent flood. But some people want to change wetlands to make more space for farms and less space for wildlife.

Luckily, more and more people are beginning to understand the importance of wetlands and wildlife. Every year, on February 2nd, many activities are held to tell people more about wetlands.
