Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it.

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
这世界并不会在意你的自尊，行胜于言。

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
另外，别在意赚了多少钱，关心一下自己值多少钱。

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

有些时候，学校里的老板未必见得比老板好多少去，至少在外面的公司，你还有劳动法罩着，看看学校里这副腔调，就晓得国内的教育基本上没救了，全得靠学生自己。

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping - they called it opportunity.
理想上来说，劳动不分贵贱，至少我们要这样认为。

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents fault, so don't whine about your mistakes...learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
学校也许已经不再分优等生和劣等生，有着无数重修的机会可以重新来过，可社会不是。
不过在多元化的评价里面，没有绝对的好不好，只有适合不适合。也正因为没有重新来过的机会，向左走向右走的时候，你永远不会晓得哪种选择是最好的，只能做到选你所中意的，然后爱你所选。

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.
生活不分学期，没有老板乐于帮你发现自我，自己找时间做吧，当然不仅仅是要到没有学期的时候再做这件事，即使还有着学期之分，有着寒暑假，也最好别忘记这件事。

 

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to work at jobs.
生活不是电影，也不是电视剧，包括青春偶像剧，尽管会有一些让我们铭记的胜于影视中剧情的场景。
生活就是生活，我们都只是些普普通通的凡人，有着小小的忧愁与烦恼，努力着，有时会感到疲惫。

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

快走了，有些留恋也就顺便多待了一会，出来时延安西路灯火已经有些辉煌的感觉，尽是路灯桔黄色的暖色调。今天无事可记，除了看掉了一本600页像砖头一样文档的一半；还有个同学号称自己是受了伤有些不敢轻易再付出的老男人。
