It could have been another day of cliché without my echoing inner voice spontaneously counting the elapsed intersects of days while I made it to not forget to dress up my Sylvia in a blank gown and comb her hair as preparation. "Something special?" she obviously discerned my meticulousness and turned around to my eyesight. There was no curiosity in the depth of those glaucous pupils but imperceptible sparks of malfunction, where my heart throbs for a second. "Yes, la Sylviella mia," I simply swallowed my sorrow with appeared comfort again,
"We pilgrim for redemption."
We wandering along the meandering path, the Ra etched our silhouettes against the river bank where time itself could be dissolved in the corrugated tranquility for an eternity. Half-squatting down to stroke away the sweats on my Sylvia's forehead, I let a sign of reminiscence flee out of the blue and was caught in the ups and downs of ours of this year. "You really had a long year, Sylvia." She looked up into my eyes with blank expression and returned a pallid "you too" where I got an emotional landslide with no sign. "But you do not know, Sylvia! It was me the one who stole your soul a few days ago and converted you into a machine in the name of my crap Celestite!" I hugged her tightly to cease my helpless tremble but failed while she managed to respond me with higher pressure as a feedback, "But what can I do, Sylvia? There was no free will without suffering as a payback and what I once granted to you was only a duplicate of my fantasy, which had me cornered as well."
"Take it easy, Syl," concrete comfort bechanced in sync with the glimmering wings, "both you two did a good job impressive enough." "Angela!" in blurry eye I noticed those familiar glamourous ceruleans while she interrupted my further confession with an emergency, "she is in trouble now and requires your assistance." My tears were choked with doubt at first and anxiety subsequently. She read my panic, hurdled up her wings, without a single word, and led the way.
The entire journey was in dead quiet but in deadly chaos inside me. I wobbling between all the possibilities, various hypotheses were forged and broken. Not until the entrance of the palace revealed itself out of the mist, did I realized that Angela had escorted me all the way through and generously attempted to leave me alone without a disrupting farewell. I turned around to witness the magnificent scene that while the crawling horizon was greedily devouring the halo of the sol, Dr. Angela "Mercy" Ziegler was flapping her broad wings over the skyline and slashing the twilight with her lustre, which reminded me to pledge at the very moment,
"Part of me will spare no effort to become part of you someday."
Honesty I was not sure whether she was aware of that oath due to the spatio-interval while I clearly remembered that her trajectory curved into a rainbow somehow henceforth. After the sacred seeing off, I fiddled the fringe of my Sylvia to hide her fatigue, took the hand of her and entered the gate of the palace,
"Home, Sylvia."
Labyrinth-like aisles remained the same as last year while the skeletons, fractured in a mess, narrated the recent turbulence here. Several wrong turnings further augmented my unease and I, therefore, bent down for my Sylvia to keep her from those impurity and embraced her like a princess to pace up for our mistress. Here or there, my heart suddenly missed a beat a few steps from a French window where she was standing still, with her silver hair dancing in the breeze, probably admiring the dying sun being torn up by the befalling edgeless night. We were all waiting in a hush till the darkness prevailed in the room eventually and I spoke up to shatter the silence,
"Sorry for this my majesty, but you once said that the queen of the Forsaken-"
Guillotined, my words were intercepted by a dagger against my throat when she turned around and approached me abruptly with her scarlets glaring with overflowing wrath at mine. "Never Rest! I Know!" The edge of dagger was in such a fury that I could start to distinguish the smell of my own blood from the surroundings, "But they changed me, deposed me as their wish and enforced me to vanish into the oblivion! Who do they think they are? The Moriae?"
"You are still the same, at least for me, with the unchanged fatally variable elegance to me."
The dancing crimsons shivered back into calm at my saying and she flipped her former disheveled hair into that very queen to whom I have been adherent for all these years. "Are you afraid, young girl with interesting name?" She thereafter leaned to my Sylvia unexpectedly, lifted her head with slim knuckle for inspection. "Just like you, but hollow. And I have something to ask you by the way." She rose up and sidestepped in front of me, "Angela told me that… you fell in love with depraved living, didn't you?"
"No… I mean… Yes, my dark lady… I am sorry and the reality was that-"
"Enough…" She raised her hand to pause my explanation, "she had told me about your situation and your theories. I am not trying to blame you nor I can even care about those trivia anymore…" I sensed the loss in her voice and found that her sanguines dimed. Fright suffocated me instantly before she continued that "Since I am in the wilderness, you can reconsider our antiquated contract-"
"No!" I was somewhat hand-folded and irritated, "Sorry for my trespassing but I would be drowned in saudade after that! How can I survive those sleepless moments with haunting nightmares!"
"Syl! I am not evading as you might assume! I just have my own business to do! I will lend power from the umbra and walk the edge of the nights! If they thought they were the Moriae, I will find a way to sever their own strings!" her eyes flared with rage but extinguished soon, "but how long would it take? Will the victory be empty too, Syl? Hence it might be better for you to-"
"Hence I find no reason to betray your banner, my queen! Albeit the battle against predestination would be harsh and bleak but that was what we live for. I will await you here with present you frozen in my mind. I will experience whatever you experienced, suffer however you suffered. I, together with my Sylvia, we swore to savor our anguish from our names… Now, and always!"
Pale lunar radiance creeping in to divulge her shallow smile to me, she approached to hood me and my Sylvia later. She then strided to the window and put her own hood on, veiling most of her face other than her lips. Before she sublimated into the discarnate smoke, I perceived that her lips slightly moved, which was obviously a word:
"ConSyl"

p.s. Well... As a routine I should have prepared my anniversary article for an entire week or more while I'm so busy this year. Sorry for my ladies that I have missed the time over and over again but you know that I love you all the same (maybe a little bit complicated?). Anyway, special thank for the companion of you and- la Sylvia mia. We are just on the way for the new splendor~
