The Revenge

Tom had always been a quiet boy, but after his best friend Mark betrayed him by spreading lies about him at school, something inside him changed. He couldn’t forget the humiliation he had suffered.
For months, Tom planned his revenge. He worked harder than ever, improving his grades and joining the school debate team. Meanwhile, Mark, who had always relied on Tom’s help in studies, began to struggle.
When the final exams came, Tom scored the highest in class, while Mark failed several subjects. On graduation day, as Mark stood alone, Tom walked past him with a smile. “Sometimes,” Tom said calmly, “the best revenge is success.”
