My Unforgettable May Day Journey in Wuyuan
My Unforgettable May Day Journey in Wuyuan
The May Day holiday arrived, and my friends and I decided to escape the stress by traveling to Wuyuan, Jiangxi—a place famous for its breathtaking countryside and seas of golden rapeseed flowers.
We set off early on May 1st, our excitement drowning out the fatigue from weeks of mid-term examination. As our bus wound through the green hills, the scenery outside the window transformed into a painting—endless fields of yellow flowers, dotted with traditional Hui-style houses with white walls and black tiles. Stepping into the villages felt like entering a fairy tale.
We explored Jiangling first, hiking up the terraced fields to witness the sunrise. The golden rays bathed the landscape, and for a moment, I forgot about exams and scores. My friend Li laughed as we struggled to take the perfect photo, while Shen insisted on buying local honey as a souvenir. In the afternoon, we cycled through small villages, greeting friendly locals and tasting sticky rice cakes. As dusk fell, we sat by a quiet stream, sharing stories and snacks.
This trip wasn’t just a break—it was a reminder that life exists beyond textbooks. Wuyuan’s beauty and laughter with friends recharged me, giving me strength to face the challenges ahead.
