1. Boss: Whom you directly report is your Boss.... if you are a software engineer and you report directly to your lead, then it makes him your Boss
2. Team Lead: Someone who has a managing scope of a Team is a Team lead, Team directly reports to him and he has the authority over the team.
3. Manager: Someone who manages a collection of team or a “huge” team is called asManager. Many team lead reports to him and he has authority over them and to the team they are leading.
4. Supervisor: When power of manager is limited just to supervise work, team may or may not report to him or he doesn’t has authority over the team… classic example of functional or weak matrix organisation
5. Chief: Anyone who tops a discipline or functional team is prefixed by “Chief” e.g.Chief Architect, Chief Execution Officer, Chief financial officer etc.
6. Head: They are the one who manages operation of offices under certain geographical location or sections e.g. XYZ company's China Head or XYZ company’s cloud head
7. Director: They are the one who heads the portfolios or part of portfolios of the organisation's business. E.g. Director of Cloud division or Director of mobile division. they are the one who has the responsibility of realising CEO & presidents vision..
8. Managing Director: Board of directors are managed by managing director. Can be a voted director or CEO.
9. CEO: They are the one who are accountable for the execution of all functions in an organisation. A company can have more than one CEO depending on the needs to manage company’s business strategy (e.g. in very diversified range of portfolios)
10. President: In case of a situation where a company has more than one CEO, they are managed by President (a visionary). A president is one who may or may not get into the organisation's nitty gritty apart from being a visionary.
