Tips: Very Strong Columns Built

When we create a part (such as list) instance, we can custom columns.

But sometime we need to add a special calculated columns. The column types Lookup, Calculated and Business data would be more useful and strong.

 

Calculated (calculation based on other columns):

For example, I want to create a project - Training Arrangement. There are the six columns, No., Title, Course, Trainer, Location and Planed Time. The column No. need formatting such as TR070200001 ("TR"+Year+Month+ID), Then we use the formula: ="TR"&TEXT(Created,"yymm")&REPT("0",5-LEN(INT(ID)))&ID. Great!

Lookup (information already on this site)

Get the list from other content. For example,  create a list about Course first. There are three columns, No., Title and Description. The column Course above project Training Arrangement will come from the list of No. of Course.
