Telling the Story of "The Emperor's New Clothes" from the Emperor's Perspective

Since ascending the throne, I've been devoted to governing. One day, two foreigners claimed they could weave a wonderful fabric invisible to the stupid or unqualified.
I saw it as a chance to show royal majesty and test my ministers, so I gave them treasures to start. Days later, I sent my trusted experienced minister to check. He looked nervous but praised the fabric highly. Suspicious, I sent a young, capable minister, and he said the same.
I went to the workshop myself. Staring at the empty looms, I panicked, fearing I was incapable. But I masked my doubt, pretending to be satisfied and urging them to finish the dragon robe.
On the parade day, I stripped and let them "dress" me. In the street, the crowd was silent at first, then burst into praises, afraid of looking stupid.
Suddenly, a child cried out I had no clothes on. The crowd stirred. I paused but soon regained my calm. I dismissed it as a child's nonsense. I'm the Son of Heaven, after all.
Back in the palace, I realized the farce revealed my ministers' hypocrisy and the people's blind obedience. I resolved to clean up the court and make the politics right.
