As far as I’m aware, there are four different technologies, which can be used to build distributed applications in .Net platform. These technologies are .Net Remoting, Enterprise Services (COM+), Web Services and MSMQ (Microsoft's Message Queuing) respectively. It’s hard to say which one is better than other.
