Reflection

I improve my analytical skills through the first two workshops.I can incorporate some pictures into my essay and these pictures help me consider how to construct my essay, and how to describe something in detail.Through the first two workshops i understood the function of multimodality. It is a new method to create essay combining different modalities such as liguistic modality, visual modality, auditory modality and so on.I mainly use the liguistic modality and visual modality in the first two workshops.
After learning multimodal writing i find that many articles on social media also use this method.For example, Wechat official account posts,news reports and Weibo posts all combine various modalities to create an good article. These article have a great influence on our daily life.We can understand an article more deeperly through multimodal writing.
However, I faced two challenges during the first two workshops.The first was sourcing materials for multimodal writing. It’s difficult to incorporate elements other than text, especially for certain topics.I think digital multimodal writing can make our articles engaging and interesting, but it is not suitable for every article.The second issue was related to the themes of our essays.For example, many new concepts and technical terms are challenging to me.
