A Trip to Wuyuan (更改版)

On May 3rd, I went on a fun - filled trip to Wuyuan with two close friends, my boyfriend, and one of his friends. We drove there, and the journey was full of anticipation.
The decision to visit Wuyuan was rather spontaneous. While scrolling through my phone, I came across some breathtaking pictures of the place. On a whim, I thought, "Why not go there tomorrow?" And just like that, we decided to make the trip. It was like living up to the saying, "Take a trip that you decide to go on at once." We quickly started planning our itinerary—deciding which spots to visit first and how long to stay. We stocked up on snacks and water, and that night, we went to bed brimming with excitement.
On May 3rd, after nearly three hours of driving, we were a bit hungry and tired, but our weariness vanished as soon as we realized we'd arrived in Wuyuan. The sight of a long queue of people waiting to enter the tourist attraction was astonishing. I couldn't believe I had to wait for an hour and a half! The wait was excruciatingly boring, but chatting with my boyfriend made the time pass more pleasantly.
Once inside, we tried the cable - car ride. From the cable car, we were treated to a stunning view of lush green terraces dotted with colorful flowers. The terraced fields resembled a patchwork of green cookies. As the cable car ascended higher and higher, those “green patches” below shrank smaller and smaller. We chatted about the terraces, speculating on what crops the folks in Wuyuan might sow there. Gazing at the smiles on my friends' faces, a wave of contentment and bliss washed over me. In that moment, I was certain that friendship was the most precious thing in the world. Admittedly, I was a bit scared, especially when the cable car descended and that weightless feeling made me flustered.
During this journey, the zipline adventure was the most indelible memory. We donned the professional gear for the ropeway and stood at the entrance, our hearts pounding, waiting for the staff to send us off. When it was my turn, I was both thrilled and nervous. I thought, "Oh my god, I'm about to glide through the air like a bird a hundred meters above the ground! But what if I fall? Will I die? I'm so nervous!" My heart is racing, and I can barely breathe! Taking a deep breath, I reassured myself, “It'll be fine. Just go for it.” Then I waited for the staff to send me off. Curiously, the instant the staff tugged on the rope of my professional gear, my anxiety gave way to exhilaration. As soon as I was pushed out, I felt an indescribable sense of freedom. The sweet scent of grass and flowers rushed into my nostrils, intoxicating my senses. I spread my hands, relishing the wind that rushed through my fingers and roared in my ears. Below the zipline, a bustling crowd filled the scene, yet in my eyes, they all seemed to be cheering me on. Looking down, I was in awe as the beautiful rural scenery unfolded before my eyes like a living painting. Before I realized it, the zipline journey had reached its end. Nevertheless, the excitement and joy clung to me tenaciously. It was an entirely novel and thrilling experience in my life! It was truly an unforgettable experience in my life!
In the evening, we journeyed to Wunvzhou, a place brimming with mystery and allure. As we stepped through the gates, the sight of an exquisitely antique wooden ship came into view. We were tempted to take a ride, yet decided to explore Wunvzhou on foot instead.

The area was teeming with people from far - flung places. Many were adorned in traditional ancient Chinese attire, their elaborate hairstyles embellished with delicate hair ornaments that sparkled charmingly. Some were capturing beautiful photos under an old tree, which was decorated with flowers and multicolored small lights.

The bustling market streets, filled with crowds and vibrant shops, were a sight to behold. Once inside, we were fortunate enough to witness the iron flower fireworks performance, a captivating traditional folk pyrotechnic display.

In this performance, craftsmen heat iron to over 1,600 degrees Celsius. Then, with a powerful swing of a wooden paddle, they hurl the molten iron against a large tree. The searing - hot iron shatters into countless golden sparks, creating a breathtaking cascade of light that resembles a blossoming flower, illuminating the night sky and leaving us in a state of wonder.

I am genuinely proud of my motherland. It's not merely due to its current prosperity, but also because of its incredibly rich cultural heritage. These cultural treasures have been enriching and nurturing us throughout the ages.

Exploring new worlds and experiencing new things with my dearest one and friends is what I consider the happiest thing. After writing this blog post, I truly long to go back to that May Day holiday and be with them again.
