Reflection on Digital Storytelling

My two recent projects—May Day travel and Dragon Boat Festival origins—revealed key creative gaps. The travel story, though authentic, lacked structure and engagement due to poor planning and a focus on chronology over narrative. The festival piece, relying solely on TikTok content, sacrificed originality for convenience, resulting in a generic retelling.

Emotionally, I shifted from initial enthusiasm to frustration with both projects. The travel story taught me the importance of crafting a compelling arc, while the festival piece highlighted the value of adding personal perspective to research.

Going forward, I’ll prioritize planning, seek unique angles, and balance authenticity with creativity to make my stories both engaging and original.
