Open your mouth, just speaking!

The old saying: Easier said than done, just do it! It means practical action is more helpful for us. Today, I want to say: Open your mouth, just speaking!

If you are a foreign company employee, so many foreigners around with you, in order to communicate with them, you must attempt to speak English. The following dialog is between Ken and Adriana.

Ken: I have a really important presentation to do and I don’t feel very confident speaking in front of many people, do you have any good tips for me?

Adriana: Well, you should be well prepared! I always feel more confident if I have practiced my lines before the audition.

Ken: Great! Any other secrets..?

Adriana: Believe in yourself! If you don’t think you can do it, then other people won’t either. Also, speak loudly and clearly. If you mumble it looks like you don’t know what to say!

Ken: Great! So if I can’t convince my Boss to let someone else do the presentation, I’ll definitely take your advice! From now on, I shall take a lot of practice.

以下是发生在Ken 和 Adriana之间的一段小对话。

Ken: 我要作个非常重要的演示但我对在众人面前演讲不是很有自信，你有什么好主意可以建议我？

Adriana: 嗯，一定要准备充分! 如果你在正式开始前操练几遍的话总能让我感到更自信些。

Ken: 太棒了! 还有没有其它的秘诀呢。。。？

Adriana: 相信你自己! 如果你自己都认为不行，那其它人也当然会认为你不行。并且，讲话时要大声且清晰。如果你咕咕哝哝的话别人会以为你不知所云的。

Ken: 太好了! 如果我不能说服老板让别人去做这个演示的话，我一定会采纳你的建议的! 从今天开始，我将在此方面多注意锻练。
