SD --- Schedule Line Categories

Schedule Line Categories

The last level of the sales order is the schedule line level. As a refresher, these are the 3 levels on a sales order:

Schedule Lines are used to determine the delivery dates of a product. For example, a customer might make an order for 1000 units, but want 500 delivered today, and 500 delivered in 2 weeks. This is specified on the schedule line level.

Defining Schedule Lines

The path to define schedule lines is as follows:

IMG Path:

SPRO | Sales and Distribution | Sales | Sales Documents | Schedule Lines | Define Schedule Line Categories

Transaction Code: VOV6

Schedule Lines - Configuration Panel

Key controls in the schedule line setup include:

  • Delivery block
  • Delivery Relevance (schedule lines that belong to an item in a quotation are not relevant for delivery)
  • Movement Type = This determines the movement type when the goods are issued out of the system
  • Order Type = Once a sales order is saved, it is possible that it automatically generates a purchase requisition (i.e. for a 3rd party scenario). This is where the order type is set
  • Req/Assembly indicator = Whether Transfer of Requirements of the material to production takes place
  • Availability check
  • Product allocation = ensures when production is low, the first customer does not get the full amount of stock. Instead, stock is allocated to customers in advance, so that each customer receives a share.

Schedule Line Determination

This is set in the following configuration path:

IMG Path: SPRO | Sales and Distribution | Sales | Sales Documents | Schedule Lines | Assign Schedule Line Categories
Transaction Code: VOV5

The schedule line category is determined based on:

Schedule Line Category = Item Category + MRP Type

  • Item Category = As defined in the item category section of the website
  • MRP Type = This setting is defined in the material master
