When I got through with the process, I could no longer connect to the internet with a hard-wired ethernet connection. When I open the network connection manager and click on Activate, I get the message:

/sbin/ifup: configuration for eth0 not found
Usage: ifap <device name>

 solutions:

open Network Configuration (System -> Administration -> Network). select a check box next to the eth0 device under "Profile" （补充：如果没有任何device，就new一个device）. 

THEN enter "service network restart" command in a root shell.
