American Girls, I Love You!

Some people say that if you have an American girlfriend, learning English will be easier. What do you think of it?

I have a friend named Don. He is from China. He has been learning English for ten years. Recently, he took part in an English course again.

When I went shopping in the street yesterday,  I bumped into him. And then we had a conversation.

"Hi, Don. How are you doing in your English class?" I asked.
" Not so well, I'm afraid." he answered and looked disappointed.
So, I asked "What's the problem?"
"I'm not improving." He told me.
"Why? You've been working hard." I said
"I don't know why. My teacher told me that I was not improving."
He said "Hey, tell me, how come your English is so good."
"Well, uh…you know. I have an American girlfriend." I said.
"Aha,! That's it. Now I know what to do." He said and ran off.
"Hey, come back. I was just kidding." I shouted.
He turned back and said " I knew it. I just want a girl."

It's so interesting, right?  If you are so lucky, you have an American girlfriend, maybe she can help you to improve your English. But if not, please don't give up. I think that you should believe in yourself.
