My Gentle May Day

The long - awaited May Day holiday finally arrived. Regrettably, I couldn't get a ticket home. Yet, to my great relief, my father made a special journey to pick me up. Immediately after the mid - term exam, I stuffed my belongings into the luggage in a hurry and dashed towards my father, my heart pounding with excitement. By the time I reached home, the clock had struck midnight. But the anticipation of the upcoming vacation melted away all my exhaustion in an instant.

On the first day of the holiday, I attended my cousin's wedding. As I stepped into the venue, I was transported to a magical realm. The pristine white and tranquil blue colors intertwined, like brushstrokes on a canvas, painting a scene so stunning that it left me speechless.

The post - wedding game session was a whirlwind of excitement. Luck was on my mother's and my side, and we each managed to snatch a red envelope. Sharing a knowing smile, we wordlessly handed them over to my little sister. Her eyes lit up like twinkling stars as she clutched the envelopes, her face splitting into a wide, ear - to - ear grin. She was positively ecstatic.

The following day, I visited my aunt's place to keep my charming sister company. The moment I walked through the door, she was all over me, chattering non - stop like a lively little bird, eager to share every funny story that had happened recently. She even brought out the ice cream she'd been hoarding for ages and a plate of fresh fruits, insisting I enjoy them. What's more, she proudly paraded her latest learning achievements. Watching her so serious yet endearing, my heart swelled with affection. Later, we headed downstairs to the community. Seeing her frolic freely in the sunlight, her laughter ringing out, and hearing her shout "This is so much fun!" filled me with a warmth I couldn't describe.

On the third day, I finally got to meet my dear friends after what felt like an eternity. Despite the long separation, the moment we laid eyes on each other, it was as if no time had passed at all. In the morning, we met up for a game of billiards. My luck was abysmal, and I kept miscuing. But that didn't stop the fun. With our stomachs rumbling, we made a beeline for a hot pot restaurant. Sitting around the steaming pot, we talked, laughed, and dug into the delicious food. Still not ready for the day to end, we went to a KTV and belted out our favorite songs, letting out all the joy we'd bottled up. Every one of us wore a huge smile that couldn't be wiped off.

For the last two days of the vacation, I decided to soak up the peace at home. My caring mother took time off work just to be with me. The sight of her bustling around in the kitchen was the most comforting thing. Dish after mouth - watering dish was placed on the table, filling the air with an irresistible fragrance. Each bite was a taste of home and her love. I ate until I was stuffed, savoring every single mouthful. In my world, nothing could compare to my mother's cooking.

This May Day holiday was a tapestry woven with warmth and joy. Each and every moment was a precious gem, coming together to form the most beautiful and unforgettable chapter in my life story.
