A boat is a watercraft of a large range of types and sizes, but generally smaller than a ship, which is distinguished by its larger size, shape, cargo or passenger capacity, or its ability to carry boats.

Zheng He (1371 – 1433 or 1435) was a Chinese mariner, explorer, diplomat, fleet admiral, and court eunuch during China's early Ming dynasty. After ascending the throne as the Yongle Emperor, Zhu Di promoted Ma He as the Grand Director (太監, tài jiàn) of the Directorate of Palace Servants.

Zheng commanded expeditionary treasure voyages to Southeast Asia, the Indian subcontinent, Western Asia, and East Africa from 1405 to 1433. According to legend, his larger ships carried hundreds of sailors on four decks and were almost twice as long as any wooden ship ever recorded.

4. The face. The term comes from rhyming slang in which "boat" is short for "boat race," which rhymes with "face." Primarily heard in UK [United Kingdom].

  • Lovely boat on that gal [girl], eh? I'm going to go talk to her.
