Both actioning and performing can mean "carrying out something," but they are used differently.

• Actioning = taking action on a task, request, issue, or item.

  • Common in business and project management contexts.
  • Examples:
    • I am actioning your request now.
    • The team is actioning the customer's feedback.
    • We need someone to action this ticket.

• Performing = executing, carrying out, or doing an activity, operation, or function.

  • More general and often sounds more formal.
  • Examples:
    • The system is performing a reset.
    • She is performing the test procedure.
    • The engineer is performing diagnostics.
