Can Clip VS Multidiag Pro VS DDT2000

I have the Can Clip it does all I need it to on my Megane as for diagnosing it will do it as long as you have a PC that includes its software. The main reason I got Clip is it covers all the rovers so the MRS, MGF, I can sort out when the car ever goes wrong and it never let me down.
About Multidiag Pro and Clip, I think the biggest difference is their vehicle coverage. Multidiag Pro is universal (works in a very large car brands), while Clip is for Renault cars. Besides, Multidiag Pro is cheaper than Clip.

The DDT2000 actually does not pass the test. I have got a MAF sensor disconnected and the software is not able to read it. It just states that no errors are present but in fact there is something going on. Then I plugged ELM327 scanner and run its software, there it is the fault present. For now the price is the only good thing, but so is the ELM327 cable and way more easy to use.

Conclusion: 

Renualt CAN CLIP and Multidiag Pro are clearly above DDT2000 and both can do what DDT does. CAN Clip works good with Renault cars, Multidiag Pro supports other car brands. As a DIY-er, I would choose Renault without doubt. But, this rank may change if you own a car that works fully or almost fully in KWP protocol, cars before 2004 or so.

In the PCB, engineers add the high quality chip CYPRESS AN2135SC or CYPRESS AN2136SC.

The new chip AN2135SC/AN2136SC solved communication issues of old CLIP versions below. That make CLIP work more stable and can be used for a longer time

 

Using other versions of Renault CLIP, the diagnostic interface will disconnect if users have no operation for 10 minutes around after successful communication to the car.

 

With this new CAN CLIP for Renault, the issue solved, with the chip AN2135SC/AN2136SC. This is the PCB with new design.

Renault can clip how to use - experience

During using the V163 Can Clip, the four indicated lights flashed at first. When I came to the diagnostic menu, the CAN indicator light off and the connection can’t be established. After consulting with professional engineers, I got two methods to solute the problems.

1 Try to install the software on another laptop, and do not connect with power.

2 Try to diagnostic car with K-line protocol. If it works, but can’t diagnostic car with CAN protocol. Turn back to factory for check is the best way.

Luckily, the first solution solved my problem. Now I share with the users who come across the same situation.


So far, I have tested various functions with Renault Can Clip V163. For example, I tested the status of RenaultⅡMegane 2003 and the switch of its electric windows. V163 Can Clip works well according to my need in general.

Renault can clip install on windows 7 64 bit ?

Renault Clip software is always tested ok in Windows XP system 32 bit. But XP system is kind of out of date. Nowadays, most use Windows 7 64 bit. To run CLIP on WIN 7 or not, that’s a question of luck.

Here are users feedback on can clip windows 7 64 bit, some successful & some failed:

– Works fine on win7 x86.

– Yes, Can Clip runs on Windows 7-x64 and Windows 8….8.1-x64 m because use x-86 files from the system.

– If your version of Windows 7 Home Basic or Home Premium x64 it is normally not work, try Enterprise or Ultimate , I use Win 7 Ultimate x64 and canclip works very well

– Automatically detect a driver in both win7 and in win7-x86-x64, a kind can clip ALIANCE driver, bosch automotive … etc..

is absolutely necessary to have all updates made​to the operating system before installation canclip

– i try install in win 7 x64 pc but the driver of VCI not work

– It is NOT working in my Win7 64-bit

– same issue, not working W7 64bit

*** why some Renault CLIP cannot work on Widows 7 64bit?

– The Clip software itself works with 64bit version of Windows 7 but the hardware won’t.. Simply because the there are no 64bit drivers for SONDE can clip..

– I think there are no drivers made for 64bit windows…

it works only with 32bit windows

*** What to do if Renault CAN CLIP cannot work on Windows 64 bit?

-Try disable driver signature enforsment in win 64bit..that help many times

– Or just RIGHT CLICK the .inf File and click INSTALL

Then if you get certificate error you can fix that in device manager/

by right click and install certificate even if invalid

– You need to know your can clip is probe (sonde) or alliance.

alliance = works both on 32 and 64 bit os

probe (sonde) = works only on 32 bit os

i think sonde is better than alliance

You can disassemble your CAN Clip and check it on PCB

3.Renault can clip change language:

During the installation, some users will be confused about language changing. For example, how to change English into French? You should select French at the installation step of selecting application language.

 

If you want to select another language after installation, the only way is to uninstall and then reinstall the software.
