Measure: Reduce or prevent the emission of pollutants

 

• Reform the energy structure and adopt non-polluting energy sources such as solar energy, wind power, and water power and low-polluting energy sources such as natural gas, biogas, and alcohol.
• Pre-treat the fuels to reduce the substances that pollute the atmosphere when they are burned, desulphurize the fuels, liquefaction, and gasification of the coal.
• Improve the combustion devices and combustion techniques to increase the combustion efficiency and reduce the emission of hazardous gases, reform the stoves, and adopt the combustion of the boiling furnaces.

• Adopt the non-polluting or low-polluting industrial production processes such as the elimination of the use of raw materials which are easy to pollute or use less, and adopt the process of closed-circuit recycling.
• Conserve the energy and carry out the comprehensive utilization of the resources.
• Enhance the management of enterprises to reduce accidental and fugitive emissions.
• Promptly clean up and dispose of the industrial, domestic, and construction residue to reduce the dust from the ground.

• The national ratio of days with heavy and above pollution was 0.9 percent, down 0.4 percentage points year-on-year, and reduced to less than 1 percent for the first time.
• The proportion of cities meeting the standards for PM2.5 and PM10 continued to improve, NO2 achieved 100% city compliance for the first time, and SO2 and CO achieved 100% city compliance for the fourth consecutive year.
