This origami boat base is used as the starting point to fold various origami projects including the origami table and photo frame.

Origami Boat Base Step 1: Start with a square origami paper 6 inch x 6 inch (15cm x 15cm), color side down.

Fold paper in half on both horizontal and vertical axis as well as both diagonal axis. Crease well and unfold.

Origami Boat Base Step 2: Fold the right and left sides to the center. Crease well.

Origami Boat Base Step 3: Now fold the top and bottom halves to the center. Crease well.

Origami Boat Base Step 4: Now unfold the top half. Then make 2 diagonal folds for the top layer only.

Fold the top back down and press paper flat to form a "roof" shape.

Origami Boat Base Step 5: Rotate paper. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 for the top half.

And your origami boat base is complete!
