Rivise(My May day journey)

Recently, I embarked on an unforgettable journey in Nanchang with a cherished friend. The instant she stepped out of Nanchang Station at 7:30 am on May 3, our exhilarating adventure kicked off.

First, we set out in search of her hotel. The task proved a tad challenging, for the location was rather off - the - beaten - path. As we wandered about, getting a bit lost, we shared hearty, good - natured laughter. Then, I took her to my university. As we meandered through the campus, I watched in delight as her eyes grew wide with amazement. The sprawling campus, with its majestic laboratory buildings standing tall like silent sentinels and the bustling teaching buildings alive with the hum of activity, seemed to cast a spell on her. We had planned to engage in a game of volleyball, but alas, the balls were locked away, a minor setback in our day. For our meals, we made our way to one of the canteens. In the soft light of the morning, we sipped on warm porridge, and at noon, we sampled the local marinated vegetables. Despite her lack of appetite, likely due to the long - distance journey, I hoped she could soak in the warmth of campus life.

In the afternoon, we plunged into a heart - pounding escape - room experience themed "The Asylum". I was as fearless as a lion. I took the lead, striding ahead, guiding her through the spine - chilling scares and mind - boggling puzzles. At first, she was a bit jittery, like a fawn in the forest, but my unwavering courage seemed to infuse her with the confidence to fully embrace the game. It was a wonderful bonding experience as we worked in perfect harmony, our minds and efforts intertwined.

Our visit to the Nanchang Art Museum was a barrel of laughs. We were both a bit directionally challenged, which led to a series of hilarious moments as we fumbled around, trying to find our way. Once inside, we whipped out our cameras. At first, she was a bit stiff as a board in front of the camera, which only made us laugh harder. However, as we continued snapping away, we gradually relaxed, and the camera captured some truly precious memories. But there was a small hitch when, after the museum closed, our backpacks got locked inside, adding an extra dash of adventure to our already eventful day.

In the evening, we made our way to the night market near my university. The market was a vibrant tapestry of colors and sounds, a sensory overload. It was filled with a cornucopia of snacks, and the air was thick with the chatter of people. We bought some refreshing "Qingbuliang" (a local sweet soup) and then made our way to Wanshou Palace. When it came to dinner, we made a bit of a misstep. The so - called "mildly - spicy" food in Nanchang was still quite a fiery challenge for our taste buds, but we gamely finished it. I was deeply touched when she went out of her way to buy medicine for me as I wasn't feeling well.

On May 4, we started the day at a more leisurely pace. She set off for the Pavilion of Prince Teng while I took the subway. There was a little mishap on the way when I accidentally crushed my foot with my bike, but like a knight in shining armor, she quickly rode over to my rescue. At the Pavilion of Prince Teng, we realized that the subway station was quite a distance from the actual pavilion. After we finally met, I discovered that I had lost my water cup, but she was extremely helpful, promptly contacting the staff to sort out the issue.

Next, we made our way to Bayi Square. She was incredibly meticulous, always checking Douyin for photo - taking tips before we took pictures. Her photography skills were top - notch, and we ended up with many stunning shots. Then, we headed to a KTV near my university. We bought some local snacks like "Hongdu Thumb" and skewers. As we savored the snacks, I introduced her to some Hainanese local - characteristic songs and the song "Bad Girl", eager to let her experience the rich diversity of musical styles.

In the afternoon, we delved into another escape - room game, this time with an even scarier theme. Once again, I was as cool as a cucumber. I was the one cheering her on as we navigated through the eerie scenarios. After that, we went to Honggutan. As the sun began to set and we made our way to the train station, I could sense the sadness welling up in her at the thought of leaving. I, too, was filled with a pang of sadness at seeing her go. The time we spent together in Nanchang was replete with so many precious moments, and I will forever hold dear these memories of our friendship and this enchanting city.
