My May day Journey
Recently, I had an unforgettable time in Nanchang with a dear friend. The moment she arrived at Nanchang Station at 7:30 am on May 3, our exciting adventure began.
First, we went to look for her hotel. It was a bit challenging as the location was rather remote, and we had a good - natured laugh when we got a bit lost. Then, I took her to my university. As we strolled around, I watched her eyes widen with wonder at the large campus, the imposing laboratory buildings, and the bustling teaching buildings. We had planned to play volleyball, but unfortunately, the balls were locked away. For meals, we visited one of the canteens. In the morning, we had porridge, and at noon, we tried the local marinated vegetables. Although she didn't have much of an appetite, probably due to the long - distance journey, I hoped she could feel the warmth of the campus life.
In the afternoon, we dived into a thrilling escape - room experience themed "The Asylum". I must say, I was completely fearless. I led the way, helping her through the scares and puzzles. She was a bit nervous at first, but my courage gave her the confidence to enjoy the game. It was a great way to bond as we worked together.
Our visit to the Nanchang Art Museum was full of fun. We were both a bit direction - challenged, which led to some hilarious moments as we tried to find our way. Once inside, we started taking photos. She was a bit stiff in front of the camera at first, which made us laugh even more. However, as we continued, we relaxed and captured some really nice memories. But there was a small setback when, after the museum closed, our backpacks got locked inside, adding an extra bit of adventure to our day.
In the evening, we went to the night market near my university. The market was a riot of colors and sounds, filled with various snacks and bustling with people. We bought some refreshing "Qingbuliang" (a local sweet soup) and then headed to Wanshou Palace. When it came to dinner, we made a bit of a wrong choice. The "mildly - spicy" food in Nanchang was still quite hot for us, but we bravely finished it. I was also touched when she bought medicine for me as I wasn't feeling well.
On May 4, we had a more relaxed start. She set off for the Pavilion of Prince Teng while I took the subway. There was a small incident on the way when I accidentally crushed my foot with my bike, but she quickly came to my rescue by riding over to meet me. At the Pavilion of Prince Teng, we realized the subway station was quite far from the actual pavilion. After we finally met, we found out that I had lost my water cup, but she was very helpful in contacting the staff to sort it out.
Next, we went to Bayi Square. She was very meticulous, always looking up photo - taking tips on Douyin before we took pictures. Her photography skills were excellent, and we got many great shots. Then, we went to a KTV near my university. We bought some local snacks like "Hongdu Thumb" and skewers. While we were enjoying our snacks, I introduced her to some Hainanese local - characteristic songs and the song "Bad Girl", wanting to let her experience different musical styles.
In the afternoon, we played another escape - room game, this time with a scarier theme. Once again, I showed no fear. I was the one encouraging her as we made our way through the spooky scenarios. After that, we went to Honggutan. As the day came to an end and we headed to the train station, I could sense her sadness at leaving. I was also sad to see her go. The time we spent together in Nanchang was filled with so many precious moments, and I will always cherish these memories of our friendship and this wonderful city.
