   redundant 【rɪˈdʌndənt】 

  1. repeating something else and therefore unecessary
    - he edited the paper and removed any redundant information or statement.
    - avoid redudant expressions in your writing.
  2. used to describe part of a machine, system, etc. that has the same function as another part and that exists so that the entire machine, system, etc. will not fail if the main part fails
    - the design incorporates several redundant features.

   imitate 【ˈɪmɪˌtet】 

  1. to make or do something the same way as something else
    - their competitor soon imitated the idea.
    - her style has been imitated by many other writers.
  2. to do the same thing as someone
    - she's always imitating her older sister.
    - she can imitate the calls of many different birds.

   allocate 【ˈæləˌket】 

  1. to divide and give out something for a special reason or to particular people, companies, etc.
    - we need to determine the best way to allocate our resources
    - money from the sale of the house was allocated to each of the children.
