另类方法创建同模板的顶级站点....

这篇文档里简要地说明了对站点备份的要素，对我下一步的工作提供了一个灵感。

我本来想根据我存储的顶级站点1模板，创建一个与顶级站点1结构和内容类似的顶级站点2，但是尝试了很多方法之后均不得要领，因为一旦创建了顶级站点2，我仍旧必须用默认的模板去定义它，而已经存储的顶级站点1模板会不出现在模板选择框里。

然后我在microsoft发布的官方模板中的说明文件中发现了一种建新站点的方法，也就是如何将已下载的模板进行布署。

原文内容如下：

Step 1- Open FrontPage 2003 and create an empty site

1. Contact the server administrator responsible for the Windows Server running Windows SharePoint Services.
2. Have the administrator 'Create a new top-level Web site' using the SharePoint Central Administration tool.
3. The Central Administration tool will give you a URL to take you to the new top-level site, after it has been created. DO NOT access the new site in a web browser.
4. Open the new 'empty' top-level site in FrontPage 2003.
5. Go to File > Open Site.
6. Type in the URL of your SharePoint site in the folder field, for example, "http://www.yoursite.com".
7. Click OK. FrontPage will attempt to open your Web. Type in your user/password information if necessary.
8. Go to Step 2 - Apply the "SharePoint Sales" Template using Restore.

Warning: By using the Backup and Restore features in FrontPage 2003, we're able to deliver a SharePoint Template Package that is easier to use, provides a better starting place, and saves time. We caution you that using the Restore feature, described in our instructions below, can overwrite existing content or data in a site if not used properly. We highly recommend that users strictly follow the instructions below, and take extra care when applying the template file. Always restore the .fwp file to an empty site. Please refer to the instructions below.

1. With your web open, go to Tools > Server > Restore Web Site....
2. Navigate to and select the FrontPage 2003 backup file "sharepoint_sales_v2.fwp"
3. Click Open.
4. FrontPage will ask you to press OK to restore the template to your site. Click OK.

后面还有很多步骤，但那已经不是很重要。

接下来我开始做：

1.   我用frontpage2003备份了顶级站点1，文件名是kkk.fwp。
2.   然后我在sharepoint中新建了一个顶级站点2，最重要的是：“The Central Administration tool will give you a URL to take you to the new top-level site, after it has been created. DO NOT access the new site in a web browser. ”这一句，意思是说当你创建了一个顶级站点之后先不要用浏览器去打开它和定义它。
3.   然后我用frontpage2003打开这个网站（顶级站点2），选择“工具-〉服务器-〉恢复站点”，而恢复文件就是我刚才备份的那个kkk.fwp..........哗...........一个新的跟顶级站点1一模一样的顶级站点2出现了，现在用站点2的地址去访问........居然是从题目到列表甚至内容都与站点1相同的一个站点，接下来要做的，只是更换站点2的名称，清理模板中残留的列表文件，当然，你也可以对列表或其他东西做一下稍稍的改动，不然的话，站点2和站点1看起来是那么相似，一点个性都没有。

用这个方法，我利用两个备份文件（分别是部门站点和项目组站点的备份），创建了18个类似的站点，时间只用了1个小时...

可能这是个笨办法，但是谁让我的模板文件不出现在新建站点模板选择框里呢？？？

接下来肯定要研究这个....它怎么才能出现，好让我更方便的建顶级站。
