1 创建线程

1.1 两种创建方法

我们可以通过继承Thread类来创建一个线程:

Thread thread = new Thread() {  
    @Override  
    public void run() {

也可以通过实现Runnable接口来创建一个线程:

Thread thread = new Thread(new Runnable() {

1.2 异同点

实际上,从执行流程上来看,这两种方式并没有太大的区别:

  1. 通过java.lang.Thread#start()方法,调用本地方法启动线程。
  2. 线程会执行java.lang.Thread#run()方法中的代码。

java.lang.Thread#run()源码如下:

对于继承Threa类方式,我们重写了run()方法中的逻辑。

对于实现Runnable接口方式,Thread#run()方法会调用target.run()方法,转而执行我们重写的逻辑。这实际上是对代理模式的应用:

从它们的执行逻辑来看,Thread代表的是线程,而Runnable代表的是任务

由于线程只能启动一次(多次启动会抛异常),而任务可以被多个线程执行。因此,更加推荐使用实现Runnable接口的方式创建线程。

例如:

2 Thread核心源码

2.1 成员变量

核心成员变量如下:

  • name:线程名
  • group:归属的线程组
  • daemon:是否是守护线程
  • priority:优先级
  • contextClassLoader:上下文类加载器
  • inheritedAccessControlContext:继承的访问控制上下文,用于检查对系统资源的访问权限
  • target:目标任务
  • inheritableThreadLocals:存储线程本地变量
  • stackSize:当前线程的栈大小
  • tid:线程id
  • threadStatus:线程状态,默认为0,映射为State.NEW

2.2 线程状态

Java中的线程包括以下状态:

  • NEW:线程对象还没有执行start()方法。
  • RUNNABLE:线程正在虚拟机中执行。
  • BLOCKED:线程由于在等待锁而处于阻塞状态。
  • WAITING:线程无限期地等待其他线程执行特定操作(notify()等)。
  • TIMED_WAITING:线程有限期地等待其他线程执行特定操作(notify()等)。
  • TERMINATED:线程已经终止退出。

Java会将操作系统的线程状态映射到统一的State中,例如sun.misc.VM#toThreadState()

2.3 静态方法

Thread在类加载时会执行registerNatives()方法,用来注册本地方法:

2.4 初始化方法

我们可以通过构造函数创建线程对象,常用的两个构造函数如下:

可以看到,实际初始化方法是java.lang.Thread#init(),它会对核心成员变量进行初始化:

线程对象初始化后,它的threadStatus=0,处于State.NEW状态。

2.5 启动线程方法

通过java.lang.Thread#start()方法启动线程:

启动线程时会校验当前线程的状态,结合synchronized关键字,保证每个线程最多只能启动一次。

实际启动线程的方法位于java.lang.Thread#start0(),它是一个本地方法。因此会执行之前注册的本地方法:

线程对象启动后,它会处于State.RUNNABLE状态。

2.6 阻塞线程方法

2.6.1 获取锁失败

如果当前线程在执行时间片中尝试获取锁,但是发现锁被其他线程持有了,那么当前线程就会放弃执行,进入阻塞状态。等到下次执行时,再重新尝试获取锁。

例如,我们定义一个任务:

在启动线程前,线程状态都是NEW
执行任务前,线程状态都是RUNNABLE
由于thread1抢到了锁,所以thread2在试图获取锁时失败,进入BLOCKED状态。
任务执行完,线程状态都变成了TERMINATED
需要注意的是,尽管thread1全程持有锁,但是它在某些时候也会处理BLOCKED状态(不知道为什么,可能是时间片用完后会进入阻塞状态)。

2.6.2 从WAITING或TIMED_WAITING状态苏醒

当线程从WAITING状态苏醒后,会先进入到BLOCKED状态。例如,我们修改上述任务逻辑:

thread1获取锁,从Object#wait()方法开始执行。
任务执行完,线程状态都变成了TERMINATED

需要注意的是,Thread.sleep()方法并不会释放锁。如果我们将任务逻辑修改如下,又会执行完全不同的逻辑:

在启动线程前,线程状态都是NEW

thread2获取始终获取不到锁,处于BLOCKED状态。
thread1从TIMED_WAITING状态苏醒,进入BLOCKED状态。
thread1获取执行时间片,进入RUNNABLE状态,从Thread#sleep()方法开始执行。
任务执行完,线程状态都变成了TERMINATED

2.7 (时间)等待线程方法

使用Object#wait()Thread#join()LockSupport#park()方法,可以让线程进入WAITING状态。

使用Thread#sleep()Object#wait(long)Thread#join(long)LockSupport#parkNanos()LockSupport#parkUntil()方法,可以让线程进入TIMED_WAITING状态。

2.7.1 Object的方法

Object#wait()方法有两个要求:

  1. 当前对象是锁对象。
  2. Object#wait()在同步代码块中执行。

使用Object#wait()方法,可以让当前线程进入WAITING状态,并释放锁:

2.7.3 LockSupport

使用LockSupport#park()方法,可以让线程进入WAITING状态:

public static void park() {  
    UNSAFE.park(false, 0L);  
}

使用LockSupport#parkNanos()LockSupport#parkUntil()方法,可以让线程进入TIMED_WAITING状态:

public static void parkNanos(long nanos) {  
    if (nanos > 0)  
        UNSAFE.park(false, nanos);  
}
public static void parkUntil(long deadline) {  
    UNSAFE.park(true, deadline);  
}

2.8 其他方法

2.8.1 yield

Thread#yield()会使当前线程让出时间片,进入RUNNABLE状态,但是不会释放锁,也没办法保证下次是哪个线程抢到时间片。

2.8.2 interrupt

每个线程都会持有一个interrupted状态。

使用Thread.interrupted()thread.isInterrupted()方法可以获取该状态。
使用thread.interrupt()可以在线程外部设置该状态。

通常会使用Thread.interrupted()thread.interrupt()方法来安全的停止线程,例如:

Runnable task = new Runnable() {  
    @Override  
    public void run() {  
        while (!Thread.interrupted()) {  
            System.out.println(Thread.currentThread().getName() + "interrupted: " + Thread.interrupted());  
        }  
    }

Thread thread = new Thread(task);

} catch (InterruptedException e) {  
    e.printStackTrace();

2.8.3 exit

使用Thread#exit方法可以在线程退出时进行回调处理,我们可以重写该方法,用于回收资源等。默认方法如下:
