Wu et al. (Wu, Yang, and Zhu 2015) proposed a graph kernel-based hybrid SVM classifier by combining the RBF kernel with a random-walk-based graph kernel. Ma et al. (Ma, Gao, and Wong 2017) constructed a propagation tree kernel to detect rumors by evaluating the similarities between their propagation tree structures. These methods not only were ineffective but also heavily relied on handcrafted feature engineering to extract informative feature sets.
