The Highs And Lows

2013 has been a busy year for Neils Children. Reuniting in late 2012 after a three year hiatus, they surprised both their fans and their detractors by unleashing the landmark album ‘Dimly Lit’ in June 2013. Written and recorded within the space of three months by founding members John Linger and Brandon Jacobs, various leading music press has claimed the album to be a contender for album of the year, whilst many have found the band’s development towards woozy, continental sounding lysergic pop a welcome move.

Various live shows throughout 2013 have proved the group’s current line up (only 7 months old) to be among the most powerful and musical in the group’s rich history, and audiences have been left wowed at memorable shows such as their performances at East End Live festival, headline shows at the Shacklewell Arms and The Horror’s Cave Club.

Obviously invigorated by both musical progression and critical acclaim the new full band Neils Children line up present the new single ‘The Highs and Lows’/’You’, two brand new songs recorded at the band’s studio in London. These represent not only the first new recordings since the ‘Dimly Lit’ sessions in December 2012 but they also offer the first fruits of a writing partnership between singer/guitarist John Linger and new bassist Syd Kemp.
