Reflection about DMC writing workshop
Participating in the digital multimodal writing workshop was an eye - opening experience, filled with both valuable insights and areas that could be enhanced.
The workshop's strengths were evident. First, it successfully introduced diverse digital modes, such as visual mode, audio mode and so on. These modes expanded our creative horizons, allowing us to blend text, images, audio, and video in our writing projects. For instance, when working on the first assignment, I inserted background music and relevant photos into my digital narrative, making it more engaging.
However, there were also challenges. One major issue was the learning associated with some digital modes. In our class, there are many professional concepts which are too heavy. For example, establishing shot and camera angles in the last assignment can be a difficult definition for our beginners to understand. In addition, the tools of these modes arehard to master such as film editing tools.
In conclusion, the digital multimodal writing workshop had a great deal of potential. To improve future workshops, our students should listen more carefully and teacher must make the heavy concepts more simple to understand.
