A Memorable May Day Trip to Xuzhou

This May Day holiday, I embarked on a fascinating trip to Xuzhou with my family, a historical city in Jiangsu Province known as the "Hometown of Emperors." With over 6,000 years of history, Xuzhou offers a perfect blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty, making it an ideal destination for travelers.
Our journey began with a visit to Yunlong Lake, a picturesque spot surrounded by lush hills. Strolling along the lakeside and breathing in the fresh air was incredibly refreshing. Sunlight danced on waters, while pedal boats glided past, leaving me forget all the frustrations. Next, we explored the Xuzhou Museum, which contains thousands of Han Dynasty relics. The intricate jade burial suits and bronze artifacts transported me back to ancient times. There’s no denying that the museum is definitely a feast for our eyes!
Hustle and bustle, crowds surged through attractions like tides. At the Han Dynasty Terracotta Army site, I found myself shoulder-to-shoulder with tourists craning necks to admire the 4,000 miniature clay warriors, their whispered “Wow!” echoing through the underground exhibition hall.
As dusk fell, the clouds, as though intoxicated, blushed the sky with a blend of pink and purple, just like a scene in the movie. Exhausted but quite exhilarated, we entered into a hustle narrow street to taste the local delicious barbecue. The air was permeated with the cumin aroma and the rich, smoky scent of barbecue. Locals and travelers crowded plastic tables, clinking beer bottles to the chorus of “Cheers”. On biting the meat, a thrill of happiness seized me, reminding me that waiting for almost an hour deserved it!
This trip deepened my appreciation for China’s profound history and left me with unforgettable memories.
