Three years ago, I read "Thinking in C++" that was my accidence book for C++. From that time on, I started to write programs using C++, so I have used this beautiful and powerful language for three years. This month, I have some leisure time to read books. I think "C++ Primer (3rd Edition)" is not a primer actually, beacause it do not fit a tyro. Lippman has a deep understanding to C++, so this book includes almost all about C++. There are lots of in-depth discussion about C++ specialities in this book. If you want to master C++ roundly, you should read this book from its start to the end. I think, for a programmer using C++, this book is enough! Besides it, you just need skills that you can get from practice.
The other book is "Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Sofware". You can get classic and high-efficient design concepts. Every programmer should read this book, I believe it can make your design better.
