How many domain names are there in total?

Story 1

· User: Mort

· Scenario: When Mort wants to know how many domain names there are in total, he opens Google and search for the number of domain names. But unfortunately, Google's results do not show the accurate number.

· If he visits our site and clicks “statistics”, then not only the accurate number but also the history trend and everyday changes are all shown in the screen.

Story 2

· User: Mort

· Scenario: Mort is bored with homework and he is surfing the Internet and want to learn more about network. He wants to use a web proxy or VPN, but doesn't know what his IP address becomes. So he comes to our site.

· On the first page shows his IP address. He then clicks details to know the geographical location and Internet Service Provider.

Story 3

· User: Mort

· Scenario: Mort is visiting some BBS. He has just read a wonderful article written by an anonymous user with an IP address. He wants to know where the author come?

· He goes to our website and input the IP in search box, and everything shows up. The front page is just like Baidu, a search box to enter IP or domain name.

Story 4

· User: Elvis

· Scenario: Mr. Elvis is creating a new website, but his ideal domain name is taken. Is there any other similar names can he take?

· He visits our site and enters the ideal name in search box. Then, a list of registered domain names containing the input string are listed in the webpage. Search results are ordered by length, then alphabetical. So short names appear on the first pages, different from other wildcard domain search utilities. Now, Mr. Elvis can easily check whether the domain name is registered or not.

Story 5

· User: Elvis

· Scenario: After Mr. Elvis' website is established, he find his website is hosted on a shared machine. Then he wants to know if there is any illegal content on other sites that may lead to the IP blocked. Is there any high-traffic site on the machine?

· He clicks on our website and input the IP, CIDR or IP range, a list of domain names resolved to this IP shows up. Links to “Safe Browsing diagnostics”, “Alexa Rank”, “Google PageRank” and “Bing Search” are also placed beside the domain name. He can easily get all the information of his IP address.

Story 6

· User: Elvis

· Scenario: The traffic of Mr. Elvis' website is growing up, and he wants to know the rank of his website.

· So he open our site and input the domain name in the search box. Except for basic info such as nameserver and IP address, Alexa rank, Google, Baidu, Sogou PageRank and number of search result in major search engines will show up. Mr. Elvis can know the rank and decides to put more advertisements on other websites.

Story 7

· User: Elvis

· Scenario: According to Mr. Elvis' development planning, he wants to apply a great domain and need to know which great domain is near to expire or has expired.

· He comes to our website and selects “expire after” in the advanced search options, then enters a date and presses enter. A list of websites that are near to expired is shown to Mr. Elvis. He chooses a domain name and prepares for applying the domain name.

Story 8

· User: Einstein

· Scenario: Mr. Einstein wants to know how strong our competitors is protecting their domain names by registering similar ones.

· He selects “search whois” in the advanced search options, and input registrar name (Google) and a domain name (google). Our site will display domain names containing word “google” owned by “Google” so that Mr. Einstein can easily get information about the registrar and domain name.

Story 9

· User: Einstein

· Scenario: Mr. Einstein wants to get contact information of the website owner for copyright issues, but there is not a contact page.

· He goes to our website and input the domain name in search box. Then whois information including email address, phone number and street address shows up. (Yes, whois info is public, unless you pay for whois protection)
