How about this?

Sigh... I missed yesterday's blog writing. I was cramming for this Research Assistant work until 2am in the morning, and was so reliefed I finished that I forgot about everything else.

The event writing plan sounds good. This means you get to read first, then the re-writing and summarizing part means that you can dig deeper into how they write news, and the commenting part allows you to express your own ideas freely. And we definitely need some free time to chill.

Aside from job reminder, I also feel that I need a way to force me to read more news and make more constructive comments on them. I like this event writing idea, and would like to something similiar to what you're doing. My part would be something like this:

- Read the news report (to be honest, when I read one event, I can never tell the difference in perspective between different news sources. I know that some news reports are more politically conservative or more liberal, but I don't see the difference.)

- Select two events per week: one can be anything (politics, earthquakes, etc...) and the other one has to be finance-related.

- I will skip the summarizing part and jump to the commenting part entirely

My Goal through this writing process: to be more politically sensitive and more informed in general.

As for the frequency of my contribution, I will keep it at two pieces per week to give more time for news collecting and reflecting. But hopefully, as you summarize your part of the news on the weekdays, I will be able to make some comments on the writing.

Out of seven days, I will also leave out 1-2 days without writing blog or just casually updating you on something. This will allow me to give some leeway on days like yesterday. It is hard for me to write on Tuesday nights for example, as I have late group meeting until 9pm, and have a morning class at 10am.

Starting today then!

BTW, why are you suddenly moved to another department? Conflicts with boss? But whatever happens, don't let your colleagues see your unhappiness. Do the best you can at work, and if nothing else, you know you always have another way out, like quitting and prepare for MBA full-time.
