Two days

Today and tomorrow, I will be working on a new job application-- a position for Equity Capital Markets Analyst. Very much something that I want to get into, so needs some serious thought over the application.

And thanks for sharing the questions your Shifu raised for you. I find them a great help as well. I find some of the questions applicable to the job searching process I'm into right now. For example, I do need to find out as much as I can about the company I'm applying for, as well as the position.

Today, I also had this great class on Corporate Brand Management-- how a CEO's response to crisis management will significantly affect the company's reputation, operations, and even the bottom line (profits). Some examples are the Maple Leafs recall (Canadian food processing company in 2008, and they made an unprecedented speech release to the press) and the negative example is the Toyota recall.

Another funny class today. Our professor asked us to brainstorm on the worst ideas. I will list some of them below:

1. Criminal Babysitters

2. Drive Through Liquor Store

3. Cannibal Feast

Haha, such a ridiculous day.

Grammar Corrections:

Today, I called my ShiFu because it had been a long time since I gave him a call. I thought I should contact him and update him on recent events. The conversation between us was much like what we had before. I told him about my new situation and career plan. And just as before, I learned a lot though his successive questions:

- Do you know the Game Rule in your company?

- Do you know the Game Rule in your department?

- Do you know what the key function is in your position?

- Do you know how the money is used in your company?

- Do you know what your value is?

- Do you know [delete] the value of the platform you are on?

- Do you know which position is suitable for you and how you could get it?

……

- Do not resign easily unless you completely understand the Game Rule of your platform.

- China Mobile is a large corporation and is enough to learn a lot which depends on the extent to which you think about.

And he said that just like before, I think too little. He reminds me to think actively and think a lot as possible as I can.

These questions and suggestions do direct me on the right track and open my mind. I’m wondering why I’m not aware of these things by myself? And again, I have to accept the huge gap between us.
