1. wish + 动词不定式

　　我们可以用wish+动词不定式表示want 的意思。 wish 的这种用法非常正式。 请注意：wish不用于进行式。

　　I wish to see the manager, please. 我想见经理。

　　If you wish to reserve a table, pleasee telephone after five o'clock.

　　你如果想预订餐桌，请五点以后来电话。

　　也可以用宾语+不定式结构

　　We do not wish our names to appear in the report.

　　我们不希望我们的名字在报告中出现。

　　wish + 直接宾语 后面通常须跟动词不定式，而不用于其它结构。

　　I want / would like an appointment with the manager.

　　我想约个时间，见见经理。 

2. I wish you...

　　在一些良好祝愿的固定表达式中， wish 后可接双宾语。

　　I wish you a Merry Chirstmas. 祝你圣诞快乐。

　　We all wish you a speedy recovery. 我们都希望你早日康复。

　　Here's wishing you all the best in your new job. 

　　祝你在新的工作中一切顺利。

3. wish+ that 从句： 意思

　　wish 也可以与that 从句（非正式文体中that 可以省略）连用。 在这种情况下, wish 并不作want 解—— wish 表示因为事情不是另外一种情况而感到遗憾，它指非真实、不可能或希望不大的事情。时态与跟if 连用的时态相似

　　I wish (that) I was better looking. 我要是长得漂亮些就好了。

　　Don't you wish (that) you could fly? 你难道不希望会飞吗？

　　We all wish (that) the snow would stay forever. 我们都希望这雪永远不要融化。

　　wish + that 从句一般不用来表示将来可能实现的愿望。表示这一含义， 我们往往用hope

　　I hope you pass your exame. 我希望你将来你通过考试。 

　　I hope you feel better tomorrow. 我希望你明天好起来。 

4. wish + that 从句： 时态
　　在wish 后面的that 从句中， 一般来说我们用的时态与 It would be nice if ... 之类结构后面所用的时态相同。 过去时态可以用来表示现在或将来的意义。 

　　I wish I spoken Franch (= It would be nice if I spoken Franch). 我要是会讲法语就好了。 

　　I wish I had a yacht. 我要的是一艘游艇就好了。 

　　I wish tomorrow was Sunday. 要是明天是星期天就好了。

　　All the  staff wish you weren't leaving so soon. 所有的工作员工都希望你不要这么快就离开。 

　　Do you ever wish you lived somewhere else? 你是不是有时候也希望生活在别的什么地方？

　　在这一结构中，were 可以用来替代was，特别是在正式文体中。

　　I wish that I were better looking. 要是我长得漂亮些就好了。

　　对过去的愿望用过去完成时表示：

　　I wish you hadn't said that. (= It would be nice if you hadn't said that.)你要是没有说过那样的话该多好。

　　Now she wishes she had gone to university. 现在他后悔当时没有上大学。 

　　在非正式的口语中，有时会出现像 I wish you'd have been it. 这样的句子。

5.wish ... would 

　　wish 后面的that 从句中用would 很普遍（比在if 从句中变遍得多）。 与wish... would 连用的句子，表示对某事不会发生而感到遗憾或恼怒。

　　Everybody wishes you would go home. (= Why won't you go home ? ) 大家都希望你回家。 

　　I wish you would stop smoking. ( = Why won't you stop smoking ? )  我希望你会戒烟。

　　I wish the postman would come soon. 我希望邮递员快点来。 （可是看样子他一时半会来不了。）

　　I wish it would stop raining. ( = It will keep on raining! ) 我希望雨快别下了。

　　Don't you wish that this moment would last for ever?  难道你不希望这一刻永远延续下去吗？ 

　　与 wish ... wouldn't 连用的句子指确实发生或将发生的事。

　　I wish you wouldn't keep making that stupid noise. ( = You will keep making ...  ) 我希望你不要老发出那讨厌的声音。

　　wish ... wouldn't 可以像命令或批评性的要求。 试比较：

　　-- I wish you wouldn't drive so fast. ( 类似 ： Please don't drive so fast.) 我希望你不要开这么快。

　   -- I wish you didn't drive so fast. (更像 I'm sorry you drive so fast. ) 要是你不开那么快就好了。

　　--I wish you wouldn't work on Sundays. ( = Why don't you stop? ) 我希望你别在星期天工作。

　　--I wish you didn't work on sundays. (= It's a pity.) 你星期天不工作该多好啊。
