A Memorable May Day: My Volunteer Experience at the National Canoeing Championship
This May Day holiday was unlike any other. Instead of returning home, I decided to stay at school and take part in the National Canoeing Championship as a volunteer at Nanchang Yaohu International Water Sports Center. This four - day experience turned out to be incredibly rewarding and memorable.
My main responsibility was related to anti - doping work. I was in charge of guiding athletes to the anti - doping testing station. Every day, I arrived at the venue early, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. As the athletes, with their determined looks and strong physiques, arrived, I greeted them with a smile and led them to the testing area.
During these four days, I had the opportunity to work closely with a group of like - minded volunteers who were also assigned to the anti - doping testing station. We quickly became a team, supporting each other, sharing snacks during breaks, and laughing together. We understood the importance of our work in maintaining the fairness of the competition, and that common goal brought us even closer.
Witnessing the intense competitions and the dedication of the athletes made me realize the value of hard work and perseverance. This May Day, instead of relaxing at home, I gained valuable work experience, made new friends, and learned a great deal about the sports industry. It was truly a fulfilling and unforgettable holiday.
