Measures of Controlling Desertification

  As land desertification continues to worsen, our country has taken some measures to control it.

   1.Tree planting and afforestation.
   2.Wind resistance and sand fixation.
   3.Soil and water conservation.

   Among the three measures, the first one has been effective in tackling the desertification. Tree planting and afforestation, through large-scale tree planting and afforestation, the environment in desertification areas can be effectively improved, land loss can be prevented, and water source protection capacity can be improved.

   The significance of planting trees in the desert is multifaceted. Firstly, the desert is a barren place with almost no vegetation and poor land quality.    Finally, the significance of planting trees in the desert lies in protecting the ecological environment and ecological balance. Deserts are one of the important ecosystems on Earth. Planting trees can promote the restoration and reconstruction of ecosystems, maintain ecological balance, protect the living environment of wildlife and plants, and reduce the impact of human activities on the environment.

    In order to arouse people's sense of responsibility and urgency in combating desertification, the United Nation General Assembly designed Jnue 17th as the "World Day to Combat Desertification And Drought."
