Desertification

Desertification is a natural (non natural) phenomenon caused by factors such as drought, lack of rainfall, vegetation destruction, overgrazing, strong wind erosion, water erosion, and soil salinization, resulting in a decrease or loss of productivity in large areas of soil. There are narrow and broad definitions, which originated in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Sahara region in western Africa experienced consecutive severe droughts, causing unprecedented disasters, and the term "desertification" began to spread. The ultimate result of desertification is mostly desertification.

The following are the hazards of land desertification.

1.The land productivity is severely declining.

2. Destroy land resources and reduce the available land area for agriculture and animal husbandry.

3. The breeding capacity of the land deteriorates, the amount of plants decreases, the carrying capacity of the land decreases, and the yield per unit area of crops decreases.

4. Causing the intensification of natural disasters and frequent sandstorms.
