Exploring Multimodality: Insights from Workshops
Recently, I attended two workshops on multimodality, which broadened my understanding significantly.
Multimodality combines visual, auditory, and textual elements to convey information more effectively. For example, in a presentation, using images along with spoken words can enhance understanding. I also learned how to select appropriate multimodal elements for different purposes.
This knowledge is highly practical. In academic presentations, I can combine slides with clear explanations. In marketing, multimodal materials like video ads with music, images, and text are more appealing.
To improve future workshops, more hands - on activities should be included. Inviting industry experts as guest speakers and discussing ethical issues such as copyright are also good ideas.
Personally, I was excited during the workshops. It challenged my previous view of communication. I'm eager to apply these concepts in the future.
