Reflecting on the Digital Storytelling Journey: A Sheep’s Perspective on The Boy Who Cried Wolf
- The Process of Creating a Digital Story
Stages & Challenges
I began by brainstorming with mind maps to reimagine The Boy Who Cried Wolf from a sheep’s view. Scripting was tough—balancing a sheep’s innocent voice with the story’s tension. I overcame this by studying children’s literature. Gathering media relied on platforms like Unsplash and Freesound for copyright - free resources. Editing was a challenge; I used Doubao and Jianying to sync audio, visuals, and text.
- Writing Enjoyment
I started excited about the unique perspective but anxious due to past writing experiences. Frustration hit during editing, but pride surged when I perfected an emotional scene between the sheep and the boy. Digital storytelling’s multi - sensory nature made it more engaging than traditional writing. I especially enjoyed scripting sheep dialogues, watching characters come alive through words.
- Writing Growth Mindset
This project improved my multimodal literacy, audio - video editing skills, and AI literacy. In future writing, I’ll seek collaborative opportunities and integrate diverse media elements.
- Writing Self - Efficacy
I lacked confidence initially, influenced by past criticism. However, crafting a powerful sheep monologue and successfully editing a complex scene boosted my self - belief. These achievements empowered me to take on more challenging writing projects.
